| Abstract: |
An array of six CCDs attached to a single silicon substrate is being fabricated by the Auburn Unversity Electrical Engineering Department for use by the U.S. Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station CCD astrometry program. While this detector is optimized for astrometric observations requiring a large dynamic range, it can be used for scan-mode applications because the alignment mask used during its fabrication accurately positions the individual CCDs. Details of the fabrication of the array and expectations for its computer interface and data reduction software are presented. |
