Abstract: An extensive adiabatic survey aimed at exploring the systematics of the g-mode period structures of models of ZZ Ceti stars is considered. The adiabatic period structures for over 600 evolutionary models of DA white dwarfs are obtained for all g-modes with l = 1, 2, and 3 in the period window 40 - 1000 s. Sample results of the survey are presented, and emphasis is placed on the central role played by the thickness of the outer hydrogen layer on the period structure of the models. Attention is focused on compositionally stratified models and the period distribution of trapped modes as a function of the thickness of the outer hydrogen layer.
