Abstract: |
The methods and associated pitfalls involved in the construction of main sequence mass functions in globular clusters are discussed. Several examples of such functions are given and their morphology is considered. Some preliminary conclusions based on this small sample are discussed, and the implication of these for star formation in the early universe, the halo dark matter, and dynamical evolution of globular clusters is mentioned. |
