Abstract: Photometry of the young open cluster NGC 7419 has been obtained leading to a distance of roughly 3.6 kpc behind 6.8 magnitudes of visual extinction. Radial velocities confirm the membership of five red supergiants. However, membership of the carbon star located within the boundary of the cluster is still problematic.
