| Abstract: |
New data on M3 and M13 from a project to determine the origin of the multiple populations of stars on the horizontal branch (HB) of globular cluster are discussed. A very narrow well-defined sequence of cooler blue HB stars in M3 is reported which opens the possibility of an alternative test to verify the Sandage period shift. |
