Abstract: |
Multiarray VLA observations of the Virgo Cluster spiral, NGC4388, show extended out-of-plane emission associated with this galaxy. The bipolar nuclear radio lobes clearly emerge out of the plane and display very different spectral index distributions on either side of the nucleus. Several disk-related kpc-scale extensions are also present, possibly orginating from ram pressure stripping by the intergalactic medium. |
