Abstract: We propose an alternative algorithm to deal with cosmic microwave background radiation data sets and show that it is more robust and stable, although a little slower, than the currently used algorithm. It can always present a numerical solution to a given fit based on the maximum likelihood test. We briefly describe the present and the proposed algorithms and the kind of data we apply it to. The avoidance of matrix inversion tasks is emphasized, and Monte Carlo simulated data sets are used to test the stability of the fitting procedure, for several different situations. Results of Monte Carlo simulations of full sky maps and a comparison of both methods are shown.
