Abstract: We summarise the results of attempts to deconvolve spatially undersampled long slit infra-red spectra of an extended source. The source was ``nodded'' up and down the slit, thus improving observing efficiency by always observing the object. The recovery of such data can be important in the infra-red as sources are not always known to be extended a priori and unsuspected sources occasionally appear to confuse the prime target. The particular problems of using such techniques in the infra-red, where the background signal from sky and telescope is large and variable, are discussed.
