Abstract: We use a Monte Carlo code capable of treating radiative transfer problems at high optical depths to predict rotational H2O line spectra for the protostellar object B 335, and compare these with {sc Iso}-observations. We also apply our model to line profiles of CO isotopomers for comparison with observations, and to derive the cooling rate for B 335. We find that the CO cooling rate is greater than the H2O cooling rate even for the highest water abundances.
