Abstract: |
Multiperiodicity is commonly observed in pulsating stars. More and more stars have now already a long series of observations, but high precision photometric and spectroscopic measurements (radial velocity and line profile variations) are in most cases interrupted by long time gaps. The influence of these interruptions on the results of the period analysis is not always taken into account. With the example of the b Cephei star b Crucis, where a lot of a priori information is available, it is shown how the analysis of data with large time gaps can lead to an erroneous set of periods. |
