Abstract:	HIPPARCOS provides accurate photometric observations of about 1000 Long Period Variable stars, spaced all along the 3 year mission. This allowed us to detect some unusual frequencies. Moreover the possible linkage of some pulsation properties with statistical estimates of initial masses, ages and metallicities from HIPPARCOS kinematical data is examined.
