| Abstract: |
The combined array being proposed by Berkeley-Illinois-Maryland Association (BIMA) and the Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) is planning to use a five-pointed star configuration for the basic antenna layout. We present the details of the layout and the resulting beams and u,v coverages for the proposed array. The star design provides excellent imaging characteristics while allowing for extensive reuse of antenna pads and connecting roads, resulting in reduced environmental impact. |
