Abstract: |
Present day metallicity gradients of the Galactic disk can be mapped from studies of nebular abundances in H II regions and photospheric abundances in young OB stars. In this review, we discuss abundance gradients obtained from the most recent gradient studies of OB stars in the literature. We combine the results from these studies and discuss systematic differences in the derived abundances. The results from our combined sample of OB stars indicate that the present day metallicity gradient for the Milky Way disk is not very steep, with typical slopes of about −0.04 dex/Kpc. |
