| Abstract: |
A sensitive search for atomic hydrogen in the nearby elliptical galaxy M 32 has been made with the VLA, which complements a previous search for molecular gas in this galaxy. No evidence for HI is found. Our failure to find cool gas in M 32 highlights a fundamental deficiency in understanding the evolution of elliptical galaxies. |
