Abstract: The linear dynamics of star systems is the dynamics of small oscillations. However one has to take into account often some specific features of nonlinear processes. (1) The period-amplitude dependence. (2) The energy transfer from one to another modes. The throb phenomena are possible. Besides, the stability can be lost because of interacting modes with different energy signs. (3) To take into account the nonlinearity is necessary when the evolution path passes through critical points. The most typical examples correspond to the theory of equilibrium figures. (4) The mixing processes at their sufficiently developed stage are also nonlinear.
