Abstract: We study the relative differences in acoustic mode parameters in regions of high magnetic fields at different heights in the solar atmosphere. The data sets include simultaneous Dopplergrams obtained with the Ni I 676.8 nm from Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG+) and K I 769.9 nm from Magneto-Optical Filters at Two Heights (MOTH). The technique used here is the ring-diagram analysis, which has been proven to be a powerful tool to study the localized regions on the solar surface. We find that there is a difference in power suppression and relative changes in frequencies in active regions with increasing height. This is explained in terms of the expanding magnetic flux tubes.
