Abstract: |
The central star of NGC7009 (HD 200516) was observed with the FUSE satellite, covering 905-1187 Å at a spectral resolution of 15 kms−1. The observed stellar wind lines are OVI 1032, S VI 933-44 and Ne VII 973 (FUSE), plus NV 1240 and OV 1371 (IUE). CIV 1550 and PV 1118-28 are absent, indicating that the wind is very highly ionized. The mass loss rate is estimated as ∼ 10−7 MSolaryr−1and the terminal velocity 2450 kms−1. Preliminary analysis of the stellar spectrum identifies several strong lines of FVI, FeVI, FeVII and NiIV. |
