| Abstract: |
SCUBA-2 is planned to be the largest submillimeter bolometer array in the world and is scheduled for delivery to the 15-m JCMT in May 2006. With over 10,000 pixels at two wavelengths and a maximum sampling rate of 200 Hz, the data rate is expected to be up to 0.5 TB per observing night. Furthermore the data will be reduced concurrently with observing to permit rapid performance and scientific assessments. This paper presents an overview of the instrument and the design of the pipeline, and discusses some of the hurdles which must be overcome in order to cope with the data flow. |
