Abstract: The Mid-Infrared Instrument on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) provides imaging, coronography, and integral field spectroscopy over the 5–28 μm wavelength range. The camera module provides wide-field broadband imagery. The Medium Resolution Spectrograph (MRS) obtains simultaneous spectral and spatial data on a relatively compact region of the sky using four integral field units. MIRI is jointly developed by the US and a nationally funded consortium of European institutes, working with ESA and NASA. The MIRI Data Handling and Analysis Software (DHAS) provides a software package to support the MIRI Focal Plane Electronics testing at Jet Propulsions Lab and to support the MIRI assembly, integration, and verification at Rutherford Appleton Lab in the UK. It will also be used to support the the JWST Telescope integration and verification at Goddard Space Flight Center. In addition, it is being used to test various processing algorithms and will be delivered to Space Telescope Science Institute with the recommended procedure for processing MIRI data based on pre-flight data.
