Abstract: AGB stars are excellent laboratories to investigate the nucleosynthesis and mixing processes occurring during the later phases of the evolution of low and intermediate mass stars. The determination of the abundances of several key elements in their atmospheres – such as Li, CNO and their isotopic ratios, fluorine, s-elements, etc. – is a key tool to constrain theoretical AGB models. In this contribution, I briefly discuss some recent results and current problems on this subject.
