Abstract: |
In the high resolution spectra of the planetary nebula NGC 6790 we detected
Raman scattered He II 6545, which is formed through inelastic scattering
of He II 1025 by atomic hydrogen. From a Monte Carlo profile analysis,
an excellent fit is obtained under the assumption
that HI component surrounds the central hot star with more than
50 percent expanding with a velocity 15-19 km per second. We also discuss
the possibility that the He II emission region may possess a ring-type
rotation motion with a speed about 18 km per second. |
