Abstract: A self–consistent model of the interstellar pickup protons, slab component of the Alfvénic turbulence (the wave vector is parallel/antiparallel to the mean magnetic field), and core solar wind protons is presented for the heliocentric distances r ≥ 1 AU. The model results show that energy in the slab turbulence agrees very well with the Voyager 2 observations of the total transverse magnetic fluctuations starting from about 8 AU. This indicates that the slab component of turbulence makes up a majority of the transverse magnetic fluctuations at low–latitudes beyond 8 – 10 AU.
