Abstract: We made multi-CO line observations toward MWC 480 in mm/sub-mm wavelengths and investigated the radial density structure near outer edge of the disk by using two disk models: the power-law model with the truncated outer edge and the similarity solution model with a tapered outer edge. The observed CO profiles show better agreement with those derived by the similarity solution model, indicating that the gas extends outwards and tapers off. In addition, the temperature in the uppermost layer of the disk is approximately 3 times higher than that near the disk mid-plane. It is suggested that the tapering-off surface density and the vertical gradient in temperature are ubiquitous in protoplanetary disks.
