Abstract: |
This paper highlights some events in solar research, beginning at Caltech in 1959
when Leighton described a technique for obtaining high-resolution observations of
solar magnetic fields, and extending to 1971 when his ideas were being pursued with
the new spectroheliograph and 82 cm solar image at the Kitt Peak National
Observatory. |
