Abstract: Here we present our results from the study of the [CII] 158 μm vs. [NII] 205 μm observational scatter relationship in the Arched-Filaments (AFs) region at the Galactic Center (GC). By taking into account the contribution of H II Regions (traced by [NII] observations) and Photon-Dominated Regions (PDRs) to the total observed [CII] emission, the vast majority of the observations can be explained by carbon-to-nitrogen elemental abundance ratios in the AFs satisfying [C/N]AF < [C/N]ON, with [C/N]ON the value derived for the Orion Nebulae. The models that best reproduce the observations have metallicities ranging from 1 Z to 2 Z , hydrogen volume density log n(H) = 3.5, and ionization parameters log U from –1 to –2, all consistent with the Interstellar Medium (ISM) average conditions in the GC. We suggest that secondary production of nitrogen from low to intermediate mass stars in the Galactic Bulge is a plausible mechanism to explain the low [C/N] abundance ratios in the GC compared to the one derived for the Galactic Disk (∼2.81 in the Orion Nebulae by Simón-Díaz & Stasinska (2011)). Overall, these results show that tight constraints are needed on the [C/N] abundance ratio for the GC, significantly tighter than previous abundance measurements have discerned.
