Abstract: |
In this BoF we discussed a variety of ways to improve how
software is described to aid in discovering and properly crediting research codes.
We showed how the CiteAs service can be used to discover how well your
software is described.
The ASCL showed how to create codemeta.json and CITATION.cff files for software it contains. We gave an example of how deeper knowledge of a
software package (e.g. its API) and
how keywords from the Unified Astronomy Thesaurus (UAT)
can help to find software.
Another approach to deeper metadata for codes is to conduct
a software census in a well-defined domain, to gain experience
on the kinds of keywords that cover a field. |
