| Abstract: |
Panelists shared lessons learned from the Great American Eclipse of 2017. Professionals, amateurs, and enthusiasts across the country planned to travel, photograph, and share the experience with others. S. Buxner shared broad lessons learned that were shared by hundreds of authors in the ASP proceeding of the 2017 eclipse. R. Fienberg shared work being done by the AAS Solar Eclipse Task Force to mitigate issues from 2017 including what may have caused lots of people to travel closer to the path but not into it and about the problems caused by a last-minute flood of fake/counterfeit solar viewers. R. Freed talked about the value of getting closer to the centerline of the eclipse path for maximum viewing time as well as the ideas for connecting with more local people to share the lived experience and increase the over impact. |
