The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada's (RASC)'s mission is to enhance the understanding of and inspire curiosity about the Universe through public outreach, education, and support for astronomical research. In this presentation, RASC National Office's Education and Outreach Coordinator, Samantha Jewett, will discuss two programs offered nationally: the Robotic Telescope for Classrooms Program and the New Observers to Visual Astronomy Program (NOVA). The Robotic Telescope for Classrooms Program, designed for high school students and educators, uses the RASC Robotic Telescope located in Canada to teach high school students about exoplanet transits, astrophotography, data collection and processing, the electromagnetic spectrum, and more. The second program, the NOVA Program, is a six-week course designed for first-time astronomers. First developed in the early 2000s by one of the centres in British Columbia, RASC has spent the past year and a half revamping the program content and structure with the help of volunteers from across Canada. Taught by volunteers who have spent years observing the night sky, this course covers everything from coordinate systems to viewing deep-sky objects.
