| Abstract: |
The International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA) develops the technical standards needed for seamless discovery of and access to astronomical data worldwide to realize the Virtual Observatory (VO). Founded in 2002, the IVOA was an early advocate of what is now known as FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles. There are 24 member organizations. Two new members, the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) and VO-Kazakhstan, were admitted in 2022. This paper describes the activities of the IVOA in 2022, summarizes the Spring and Fall 2022 virtual "interoperability meetings," describes the impact of IVOA activities on the astronomy community, and discusses its prospects for 2023 and beyond. |
