Abstract: Analyzing space and planetary science data can become quite challenging, even for domain experts, on one side due to the amount and breadth of necessary domain knowledge and on the other side due to the complexity of algorithmic and interactive data analysis techniques. Collaboration methods, specifically data annotation methods, empower users to mark and share interesting findings and thus jointly analyze their data. New findings can be reviewed by other domain experts or considered as an additional source of information for novices. Guidance methods support users in analyzing complex data by suggesting suitable algorithmic and visualization methods which have been considered as suitable by domain experts in the past.
