Abstract: The XMM-Newton satellite, a cornerstone of ESA’s missions since 2000, operates as an open X-ray observatory, generating high-quality scientific results. The XMM-Newton Science Analysis Software (SAS) is the application used for processing the data. SAS has evolved from a standalone to a Software as a Service (SaaS) application, facilitating the publication of numerous scientific papers. As cloud computing reshapes data analysis, the XMM-Newton project explores migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS), emphasizing the synergy between SAS and cloud processing. This contribution delves into collaborative opportunities with the ESA’s DataLab initiative and envisions partnerships with platforms like SciServer. The integration of XMM-Newton SAS, ESA DataLab, and cloud processing introduces a new paradigm in X-ray astronomy data processing, facilitating innovative research methodologies for scientific data analysis.
