Abstract: We present new MIDI N-band detections of the core regions of eight nearby AGNs with typical parsec-scale resolution. For two Sy 2 galaxies (NGC 1068 and Circinus) we have extensive (u, v)-plane coverage, allowing source modelling. Both of these show a small flat central region of warm dust emission, that coincides with the positions of water maser emission for these galaxies; the axes of the NGC 1068 emission do not agree with any known symmetry axes of this system. Both show strong silicate absorption. The other galaxies show little evidence for either hot dust components or silicate absorption.
