Abstract: X-ray technique has proved to be a powerful tool for searching active nuclei embedded in heavy obscuration. These highly obscured AGN hold important implications for many respects, including the X-ray background, evolution of massive black holes and high redshift universe. Recent developments from X-ray observations are reviewed.
