Abstract: The classical HST Archive is one of the most widely-used astronomical archives in the world. It is also a very special archive because each dataset requested by a user is re-calibrated on-the-fly with the newest software and latest reference files available. The downside of this benefit is that users have to wait several minutes, hours or even days until the data have been processed for them. In a combined effort, CADC and ST-ECF have brought the HST archive to the next level allowing for immediate and programmatic access to all data products re-processed and calibrated with the best software and reference files at all times. In addition, we provide previews for all products as well as enhanced metadata. This lays the foundation for data-mining the HST archive and allows full Virtual-Observatory-compatible access.
