Abstract: Windows on the Weather is a web-based teaching tool designed to engage middle school students in the analysis and understanding of Earth’s atmosphere by combining current weather satellite imagery with live webcams from across the United States. This project lends itself to inquiry-based studies in a variety of Earth science disciplines, including meteorology, climatology, and geography. This paper describes the project as it currently stands, along with features to be implemented in the future.
