Abstract: We discuss the various observations and identifications of continuous infrared opacity sources in the dusty winds of evolved O-rich Mira and red supergiant (RSG) stars. In particular, we put these in the context of the difficulty of driving such a dusty O-rich wind in self-consistent models.
