Abstract: We present the results of a new study investigating where undergraduate students report getting their information about science. Over 650 students completed an online survey in the spring of 2012. The survey asked them to report their interest in science in general as well as specific disciplines, their participation in learning about science in different contexts, where they looked for information about science and the reliability of different sources for science. Many students reported getting their information about science from online sources although they acknowledged that science teachers and scientific journals were the most reliable sources of information.
