Abstract: Improved knowledge of the morphology of nearby galaxies has resulted from large imaging surveys such as the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS; optical wavelengths), the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX; near- and far-ultraviolet wavelengths), and the Spitzer Survey of Stellar Structure in Galaxies (S4G; mid-infrared wavelengths). In this review, I summarize the basic aspects of nearby galaxy morphology and highlight the strength of the morphological survey as a means of learning more about how galaxies are structured and how they might evolve.
