Abstract: |
Quasar host galaxy images are dominated by the Point Spread Function (PSF) of the high luminosity quasar. The host galaxy morphology is submerged beyond easy recovery of its parameters even with HST resolution. Recovery is achieved by deconvolving the PSF through minimization of χ2. This method is very sensitive to the optimization process. It is also important to understand that different combinations of parameters can result in similar χ2. In this paper we introduce a novel search algorithm that uses multiple agents. This method gives the user more control over the optimization process and allows the user to explore multiple solutions. |
