Abstract:	We describe two technically interesting aspects of the DMaSS (Data Management and Science Support) platform. First, we show how UCDs can be embedded within table metadata, creating a self-documenting SQL database that can be used to dynamically assemble VOTable descriptions in response to astronomer queries. Second, we describe the advantages of an embedded lazy prefix-syntax language in the evaluation of simple expressions during data remediation.
