Abstract: Helioseismic observations by the Hinode Solar Optical Telescope (SOT) are The reviewed benefit of the SOT high-resolution capability for local helioseismology has already been demonstrated in mapping subsurface flows and revealing the fine structure of umbral flashes. The phase relations between the photospheric and the chromospheric oscillations in the sub-critical frequency range are also discussed, as are possible future directions of the SOT helioseismology programme.
