Abstract: Dust is formed in the outer atmospheres and winds of AGB stars and severely affects their observed spectra and colours. Synthetic JHK colours from a grid of time-dependent C-star models are presented and compared to observed colours. The combined effects of pulsation and dust are significant, especially for the coolest and most luminous models. We are now extending the calculations with respect to effective temperature, luminosity, stellar mass, and pulsation amplitude, as well as the carbon excess.
