Abstract: We present the current status of the SuperWASP-South instrument. The mode of operation is outlined and details of observations to date and data management/reduction are given. Results from a preliminary transit search show that there is currently insufficient data to detect any significant fraction of potential transits. However after ~ 6 months we expect to surpass the data volume (12.8 × 109 data points on 6.7 × 106 objects) obtained with SuperWASP-North in 2004, leading to the detection of many more transiting extrasolar planets.
