Abstract: |
The Advanced Visual Systems (AVS) has been used to explore lines of sight through the complex geometry of the Green Bank Telescope (GBT). Perspective images computed by AVS from geometric descriptions of the components of the telescope have been used when selecting locations for the installation of laser range-finders and when checking geometrical relationships along the optical path. The success of this application demonstrates the flexibility of the toolkit-plus-visual-programming paradigm for scientific visualization. |
