Abstract: New methods of local helioseismology provide information about subsurface convective and shear flows, thermal and magnetic structures, which is critical for accomplishing the Solar-B scientific objectives. I review the current status of acoustic tomography, observational requirements and limitations, and discuss observations of sub-photospheric vortex and shear motions, subsurface transport and flux emergence, and links between subphotospheric dynamics, magnetic topology, and coronal activity.
