Abstract: We observed the massive star forming region G34.4+0.23 with VERA to determine parallaxes and proper motions. Four infrared dark clouds were observed and water masers are found from two dark clouds, MM1 and MM4. In MM1, the distribution of the maser spots shows a “V-shape” structure and most features move along this structure. The peaks on the phase (position)-referenced images are detected, but their motions indicate a parallax that is larger than expected and with a large scatter. The analysis processes should be checked to confirm the measurement of the parallax.
