Abstract: We analyse the substructured spatial distribution of sink particles in a hydrodynamic simulation of a star forming region for mass segregation by plotting the sink particle mass vs local surface density. We find global mass segregation, but also the presence of ‘massive’ (m > 2.5 M) sink particles that formed in relative isolation.
