| Abstract: |
Results are presented on focal ratio degradation (FRD) measurements of FHP 100-120-140, FHP 200-220-240, and FHP 320-385-415 fibers designed for fiber-fed spectroscopy. In addition, the effects of mounting and polishing were investigated. Results of transmission measurements demonstrated low intrinsic FRD of these fibers. A mounting technique that does not introduce additional stresses into the fiber was developed. |
