| Abstract: |
The operation principles of the Fiber-Linked Array-Image Reformatter (FLAIR), a prototype multifiber feed system for wide-field multiobject spectroscopy, are examined. An assessment is presented of the performance of the FLAIR prototype operating currently on the UK Schmidt telescope, together with an evaluation of improvements in performance resulting from recent modifications introduced into the system. Possibilities for further improvement are discussed. |
